Echoes from the Dojo

As one of JP's longest-standing students, I can confidently say he had a life-changing impact on who I am today. When I first started training with Josh, I was a skinny kid with zero confidence, paralyzed by self-doubt and overthinking.
Josh saw past me as a student, and he saw the person within. Through a mixture of encouragement, humor, and life lessons, he didn't just train me physically, he gave me the mental tools to be successful in every area of my life.
Because of his mentorship, I am now entering my third year of high school varsity baseball. He gave me the entire foundation, both mentally and physically, that I needed to reach this level and beyond. Every piece of advice Josh gives is meaningful. Even if it doesn't click immediately, he always provides the explanation to show you the long-term purpose. If you are looking for a coach who commits to your complete development, JP is your guy.

As a parent deeply invested in my son Griffin’s development as a high-level baseball catcher, I can say without hesitation that working with Josh Paul and The Lobo Dojo has been one of the best and most impactful decisions we’ve made. Josh has been mentoring Griffin for over a year now, and the change in Griffin’s mental approach to the game has been transformational.
Josh brings a rare and invaluable perspective to mental training. His background as a former Major League Baseball player, scout, and coach gives him a depth of experience that few in the youth development space can match. He understands the pressures, the grind, and the mindset required to succeed at the highest levels—and he’s able to translate that wisdom into actionable strategies for young athletes.
What sets The Lobo Dojo apart is its focus on the mental side of performance, which is often overlooked in youth sports. At this level, everything tends to revolve around physical skill development—exit velocity, pop time, sprint speed, mechanics. But without mental resilience, focus, and emotional control, those physical tools can’t be fully leveraged. Josh has helped Griffin build routines, manage pressure, and develop a mindset that allows him to stay locked in regardless of the situation. That mental edge has elevated Griffin’s performance and confidence both on and off the field.
Josh’s approach is personalized, thoughtful, and rooted in real-world experience. He doesn’t just teach mental toughness—he cultivates it. The Lobo Dojo isn’t just a training program; it’s a competitive advantage. For any serious athlete or parent looking to invest in long-term development, I can’t recommend Josh Paul and The Lobo Dojo highly enough.

Josh Paul has been invaluable to the mental well-being of our son, Gavin. We met JP at Texas Baseball Ranch in December of 2024 and had an immediate connection. I wasn’t sure if our paths would ever cross again after we left The Ranch, but when we were confronted with a difficult situation on our son’s high school baseball team, JP was my first call. I knew that he could help Gavin handle what would lie ahead, and it was honestly the best training decision we’ve made over the years. The investment in Gavin’s mental game has enabled him to execute all of the physical training more effectively. It has also enhanced his leadership abilities, and this investment continues to have a positive impact on his life off the field.
JP has a special gift, and we are forever grateful that our paths crossed, so that Gavin could receive what JP has to offer. Gav has been working with JP for 10 months, and the growth in his mindset has been remarkable. His ability to take the highs and lows in stride has improved. He’s able to put the game into perspective and better handle the pressures of live gameplay, the recruitment process, and student life. JP connects with Gav on a level that we as his parents can’t. He gets it. Sometimes they discuss a specific baseball topic, but sometimes they delve into life in general; JP has an uncanny ability to make it all relatable. He truly cares about Gavin’s development, not only as a baseball player, but most importantly as a human being. It brings me to tears when I think about all that JP has done for Gav and our family. He’s one of a kind, and we are abundantly grateful for the gift of him.
