Good Game?

Today you were 0-for-3 at the plate: you lined-out, punched-out, drove in a run with a routine ground ball to the second baseman, and you walked.  Your day behind the plate was just as boring: your receiving was clean and simple, you blocked three pitches in the dirt (twice with runners at second and third), and you made two throws to second base (both under 1.90, right on the bag) both resulting in stolen bases.  Your team won 4 — 5.

Did you have a good day?

You just swung the bat.

You just caught the ball.

You just blocked the ball.

You just threw the ball.

It felt unremarkable.

You didn’t get any hits.

You were only on base once.

You didn’t throw anybody out.

Did you even help your team win?

Take another look…
